Holiday Gift Guide

Happy Holidays!

There are many things people consider when buying holiday gifts for the special people in their lives. We wanted to highlight some talented people’s work and offer some ideas, in the spirit of supporting marginalized communities and working toward a more just and equitable world.

Some Favorites…

We fell in love with Jennifer Price Davis’s angel series, and we commissioned a Body Trust is My Birthright angel that we have available in our shop as high-quality, full-size (10″ x10″) prints and five-packs of (3″ x 3″) stickers.

Desiree Adaway is a fierce writer and leader in the fight for racial equity and social justice. Her newly updated Dear Sister (not just cister) card deck has liberatory messages, reflections, and writing prompts that will deepen your inner liberation work and justice-doing. The original Dear Sister deck is also still available!
Nalgona Positivity Pride focuses on intersectional body positivity, eating disorder awareness, and cultural affirmation. Their Etsy shop has some of our favorite tees, posters, and pins. NPP’s founder, Gloria Lucas, has a Patreon Page where you can support her work and emotional labor through a monthly donation.
We love Substantia Jones and The Adipositivity Project Calendar she puts out every year. Put images of fat bodies where you see them regularly to increase your own body acceptance.
Books we reach for again and again…
CLOTHING

Bombsheller leggings come in sizes up to 6X.

Fresh Out The Cocoon and Decolonizing Fitness both make awesome body positive hoodies and tees.

Shop Fat Mermaid has super sassy fat-positive tees, sweatshirts, and pins and more.

Eryn Amel makes sex-positive, body positive tees that we love!

Fat Fancy is a radical fat fashion boutique located in Northeast Portland, Oregon offering new and used items in store and online.

Alice Alexander sews to order beautiful clothes up to size 28. You can also make requests for extended sizing.

ART & MUSIC

Thistle Farms makes handcrafted body care and home products and supports survivors of sex-trafficking, prostitution, and addiction by providing housing, meaningful work, and lifelong support services.
Shoog McDaniel’s art is “inspired by Florida flora and fauna and the beautiful fatties they photograph.”
The Body Love Box is a brand new body-positive, fat-positive and intersectional monthly subscription goodie box that features artwork by fat and marginalized artists, body liberation books and zines, self-care items, and more!
Ground Up makes delicious nut butters and provides job training to women overcoming adversity in the Portland area.
Viva Las Calaveras makes beautiful “Heart to Hand-made” jewelry.

The most revolutionary work is often done for free. Consider donating to these organizations who need our support.
