A weekend intensive for the female-identified person ready to move beyond diet culture, unravel tiresome patterns, and regain connection with their bodies.
Body Trust® is a reclamation. Of pleasure. Of knowing. Of wanting. Of listening. Of your own damn self. Body Trust work is a process of reclaiming our bodies after they’ve been harmed by stigma, diet culture, shame, difference, and othering, and then further distanced by our attempts to mitigate that harm by trying to control the size, shape or appearance of our body.
The behaviors we are encouraged to adopt in the name of assimilation (thinness and weight loss) aren’t sustainable and don’t really serve us. Health is more than just physical - it’s emotional, spiritual, and relational, too. It’s time to be part of a new conversation about bodies: one that nourishes and celebrates who we are and who we can become…regardless of how we show up.
After the retreat, you’ll:
- Understand what a body trust practice looks like
- Learn what it means to practice body trust, and the phases people go through while doing this work
- Discover ways to begin to heal from the effects of weight stigma and diet culture
- Begin to feel less body shame, move towards pleasure, and find more satisfaction and joy in your life
Community is powerful. At the Reclaiming Body Trust Retreat, you’ll be surrounded by people on the same journey. Healing is especially powerful when we do it together. This supportive group - including Hilary and Dana - will stand with you and believe in you as you navigate the process of reclaiming your body trust.
At the retreat, you’ll:
Learn the core elements and phases of a Body Trust practice and how you can implement them in your own life
Participate in group discussion and activities, gentle movement practices, guided meditations, music, mindfulness experiences, and journaling and art therapy
After the retreat, you will be invited to join our Body Trust® Network, an ongoing support community on Facebook to help you continue the practice and share in the love with other people traveling the same path.
This retreat will help you regain the connection and trust that is your birthright so that your body becomes a safe and welcoming home.

What is Body Trust®?
Body Trust is a radical revisioning of what it means to occupy and care for your body. It is a pathway to acceptance of the body, an alternative dialogue to the conventional paradigm of food, body image, and weight concerns in our culture. Body Trust is paradigm-shifting work that invites bravery and fierce body compassion.
What is Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive Eating is an approach developed to help people heal from the side effects of chronic dieting. These side effects can include rigid ideas about “good” foods and “bad” foods, restrictive eating that leads to increased binging, feelings of not deserving food, social withdrawal, and a loss of self-trust, especially when it comes to food.
An intuitive eater is defined as a person who “makes food choices without experiencing guilt or an ethical dilemma, honors hunger, respects fullness and enjoys the pleasure of eating.”
Initial studies of intuitive eating have found that “intuitive eaters” have a decrease in thin idealization and triglycerides, while experiencing an increase in well-being, good cholesterol, and self-esteem.
What is Health at Every Size®?
Health At Every Size (or HAES®) is an exciting new conversation about sustainable, holistic health: physical, psychological, relational, and spiritual. This movement promotes the simple truth that all bodies are good bodies.
HAES® shifts the focus away from dieting for weight control, which is often motivated by self-loathing, and toward quality of life and self care practices that support your body’s natural wisdom and vitality.
The guiding principles of Health At Every Size include Weight Inclusivity, Health Enhancement, Respectful Care, Eating for Well-being, and Life-enhancing movement.
Body Trust is repair work. We are healing our relationship with food, our bodies, and ourselves. Just like when you’ve lost trust in any relationship in your life, it takes time to get it back. When it comes to Body Trust, this trust is reciprocal—you are working on trusting your body and your body is working on trusting you to give it enough to eat consistently. We cannot heal our relationship with our bodies with a plan to make them into what the dominant culture thinks they should be.
