The conversations that occur between helping professionals and their clients are powerful ones, capable of supporting or inhibiting the innate change process that is alive in all of us. Many helping professionals choose the work they do because they want to be agents of change. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centered, guiding method of communication and counseling that elicits and strengthens intrinsic motivation for positive change.

Designed for helping professionals who want to create well-balanced, meaningful relationships with their clients, this program offers:

  • A common sense approach for supporting people in making and sustaining change
  • Lively discussions to deepen understanding of the paradox of change and the spirit of MI
  • Practice activities for skill building
  • A combination of principles, skills, and strategies to elicit client strengths, inner wisdom, reasons for change, and ways of achieving it

Return home with practical strategies to make your interactions with clients more satisfying and effective.

The workshop was beyond excellent. The totality of it was wonderful. Dana was an amazing trainer and offered so much of herself.

Dana is a masterful trainer. Her facilitation style allowed me to absorb the material and practice skills, while she also made space for thoughtful discussions in the group. All of this helped me connect with the material and gain confidence about integrating it in my practice and my life.
